Imran Khan, announcing a series of austerity measures to cut down the expenditure during his maiden address to the nation late last night, said that he wanted to live in his own house in Banigala “but was told by security agencies that my life was under threat which is why I am living here”.
Days ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s swearing-in ceremony, Nawaz Sharif’s party PML-N and Bilawal Bhutto’s PPP-Parliamentarian has announced to field their own candidate for prime minister in parliament. The PML-N and the PPP-P had alleged rigging in the 11th Pakistan National Assembly elections in which Imran Khan’s party PTI emerged as the single largest party but fell 21 short of the majority mark of 137 directly elected seats.
