Death Row Records will reissue classic albums from the likes of 2Pac and Snoop Dogg on cassette this year.
LA-based label Death Row Records, founded by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, The D.O.C. and the late Dick Griffey, catapulted West Coast hip-hop in the spotlight throughout the early 90s, releasing some of the most iconic rap albums of all time.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Death Row Records, the label will reissue four classic albums via cassette from the imprint s back catalogue, including 2Pac s 1996 LP All Eyez On Me and The Don Killuminati (7 Day Theory)’, recorded under 2Pac s Makaveli alias one month before his death.

Kendrick Lamar recently did an interview with Far Out magazine, where he revealed a top 25 list of his favorite albums.
In the top five was Dr. Dre s 1992 classic album The Chronic, which Kendrick revealed was probably the first rap album I remember them playing in the house from top to bottom. He specifically pointed to Lil Ghetto Boy when stating, ‘Lil’ Ghetto Boy’ was crazy because of the storytelling, and I do a lot of storytelling in this album. I really pattern… Like I listen to my album and how it’s broken down to 12 songs. It really kind of shapes and forms into an album like that. Just with the storytelling and what represents the city today and kids around the world today.
