Club skipper Jim Magilton has urged striker Pablo Couñago to work harder at getting back into the first team. Magilton says that the squad are well aware of the Spaniard s qualities and that he is well capable of winning a place in the side.
A strong Town reserve side beat West Ham 3-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Portman Road this afternoon. Connor Wickham, Pablo Couñago and Lee Martin netted the goals.
Town manager Joe Royle has confirmed that there is a provisional agreement between the Blues and Sheffield Wednesday to take the Finnish international to Portman Road permanently. However, Royle says he is not yet sure whether he ll be able to afford to buy him without someone else leaving first.
Full-back David Wright is expected to return to the Town side at Burnley on Tuesday as the Blues continue to chase their first away win of the season. Wright returns after an infected blister on a heel, while manager Jim Magilton has vowed to make other changes to his side.
