Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 2 (ANI): Days ahead of polling in Tamil Nadu (April 2), when his son-in-law s houses in Chennai was raided by the Income Tax department, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin walked on stage at Perambalur, and said, I am the son of Kalaignar (nickname of late DMK supremo Karunanidhi). I will not be scared with this. Stalin is the second son of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi with his second wife, Dayalu Ammal. Born four days after the death of the Soviet communist leader, Stalin was named after Joseph Stalin. He was groomed from an early age by Karunanidhi as his successor and heir.

Counting of votes for five assembly polls on Sunday, outcome likely to have impact on national politics ANI | Updated: May 02, 2021 00:49 IST
New Delhi [India], May 2 (ANI): Counting of votes for high-stake assembly polls will take place on Sunday in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry in accordance with COVID-19 protocols. The Election Commission has made necessary arrangements for counting.
The counting is taking place amid an unprecedented surge in COVID-19 cases in the country. Counting will also take place for bypolls to four parliamentary and 13 assembly seats. The outcome of assembly polls is likely to have implications for politics at national level.

New Delhi: Students from all over the country are demanding that the CBSE class 10, 12 board exams be cancelled in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases. The exams are currently scheduled to be held offline May 4th onwards.
Over 1 lakh students have signed an online petition on Change.org demanding the cancellation and postponement of exams. Using the hashtag #CancelBoardExam2021, students took to Twitter to urge the government to heed to their demands.
