Just back to full strength following COVID shutdowns, Worcester Wares cautiously moves forward

The business closed its two retail stores in March 2020, operating solely from its online shop. The Kelley Square location re-opened in May 2021, and the DCU Center location started welcoming back customers in May 2022. 

Now Serving: New Dog-Friendly Restaurant Opening

(Owner Jessica) Ludwig said there won’t be a dine-in option, but customers can browse through Riley’s retail offerings while they wait. Inside Riley’s roughly 650-square-foot shop will be a photo booth, dog-themed merchandise and a television that will display adoptable dogs from a variety of local rescues. Sandwich offerings will include meats like brisket, chicken and steak along with vegetarian and vegan selections. Meals will be prepared using a sous-vide cooking style. The sandwich shop will serve local drinks provided by fellow dog-loving businesses, including wine from the New Glarus-based Bailey’s Run Vineyard & Winery. Riley’s will also stock beer produced by Black Husky Brewing.

Boomtown Delays Duluth Restaurant Opening

Fox21Online The Duluth restaurant is expected to open in the old Sunset Bar and Grill on Martin Road. January 8, 2021 The grand opening is now being pushed back until the spring. Boomtown currently has two other locations gearing up to reopen now that Governor Tim Walz is allowing indoor dining at 50 percent capacity. After a difficult year due to the pandemic, the owner says she is working on getting those locations up and running first. “Because of everything that has happened over the last year with COVID, we have lost a lot of staff, said Owner Jessica Lietz. “We are going to be hiring and training and getting off our feet again. We will then be turning our focus to Duluth.”
