Oregon Softball (36-15, 13-10) swept Friday’s doubleheader in Berkeley, including a 4-1 win in game one and a 9-3 victory in game two.
Brooke Yanez (3.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 6Ks) earned her 20th win of the season in game one after relieving Samaria Diaz (3.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 6 Ks) in the third inning. Oregon was lead offensively by Rachel Cid, who went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI, and Deijah Pangileenan, who was hit by a pitch and launched her first home run of the season.
In game two, Oregon jumped out to a four-run lead, before Cal sliced the lead in half in the bottom of the 3rd on a Maddie Bishop home run to right-center. From there, Oregon poured it on with a five-spot in the 6th inning, including back-to-back home runs from Rachel Cid (6) and Shaye Bowden (5). Makenna Kliethermes picked up the win to improve to 8-6 this season (3.1, 3 ER, 4 Ks) and Reagan Breedlove (3.1, 3 H, 1 ER) pitched well in relief.
