The FIA community was saddened to learn of the passing of former President Max Mosley on 24 May 2021 at the age of 81. The work he undertook during his 16-year presidency, detailed below, leaves an indelible mark on the world of motor sport and mobility. His passion and commitment for improving safety both on the race track and, crucially, in transferring that work to practical solutions on the road, has had a positive effect on countless lives around the world. The FIA continues to strive for improvements in safety, remaining committed to ensuring a prosperous future across the world of motor sport, and pays tribute and thanks to the contributions made by Mr Mosley.

Bernard Ziegler, who has died aged 88, was one of the most influential figures in civil aviation and the outspoken figure behind the Airbus technology that took the company’s airliners to the forefront of modern air travel and safety.

NEW YORK The World Jewish Congress deeply mourns the passing of Dr. Adolphe (Ady) Steg, who was born in Verecky, Czechoslovakia, in 1925 and raised in France. Upon completion of his medical studies, Dr. Steg became a surgeon and professor of urological surgery in Paris.
In addition to a meaningful career in medicine, Dr. Steg worked tirelessly on behalf of many Jewish organizations, first as president of the Union of Jewish Students in Paris (1948) and vice president of the World Union of Jewish Students (1949), later going on to become a leading member of the Fonds Social Juif Unifie, the Consistoire, and the Alliance Israélite Universelle.
