Staycations haven t always been my thing, but a night at Hilton Singapore changed my mind.
Instead of simply a staycation though, I brought my mum to their highly sought-after steak-cation an overnight stay that came with a steak (or seafood) dinner at their in-house restaurant, Opus Bar & Grill.
At $265++ (or $310 to be exact), it was a well-worth break from the monotony of the pandemic life for my mum and myself.

Treasures of the Sea High Tea Staycation and
.
During the initial launch of the Hilton foodie staycation packages, a few perks such as early check-in was available I was lucky enough to have taken advantage of this tiny fine print to avoid any crowds during check-in. Alas, due to rising popularity of staycations in Singapore, it’s now a gamble at the check-in counter queue. Will you be in your room by 2pm? Or will you be spending your staycation in the hotel lobby? Who knows.

Who cares. It’s 2021
liao and you deserve the best of both worlds because you’ve come a long way from all those lockdowns, social distancing measures and maskne, baby.
So, yes, you can eat and live (in a posh hotel), especially with these staycations that were created with the Singaporean
yao gui in mind.
And since we still don’t know if we can meet up with 28 of our distant relatives this Chinese New Year, you also don’t have to worry – for now – whether these food-themed staycations will make you go one clothing size up… and whether Sixth Aunty will exclaim: “Why you so fat again!”.
