Journalist Tarun Tejpal to publish apology over defamatory article against top Army officer, HC told

Journalist Tarun Tejpal has agreed to publish an apology in a national daily as part of an appeal filed in the Delhi High Court. Tejpal and his reporter Aniruddha Bahal are challenging a previous order that awarded a compensation of Rs 2 crore to Major General M S Ahluwalia for defamation. They have also agreed to deposit Rs 10 lakh each with the court. The court has stayed the proceedings on Ahluwalia s petition for execution of the decree. The appeal will be heard in April to determine the damages to be paid.
