On Saturday, after 5:00 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward County Detachment responded to a report that a person had gone through the ice.
The report states that this was at the Point Anne area of the Bay of Quinte.
Police responded with emergency services from Prince Edward County, Belleville and Trenton.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit were present Sunday, to conduct search efforts.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was able to recover a 23-year-old male from the city of Belleville.
Generally this time of year the ice is usually fine however, this year the ice is very thin in places based on the warmer winter we are having. People are encouraged to stay off.
