India on Monday recorded its second confirmed case of the monkeypox virus after a 31-year-old man from Kerala s Kannur district tested positive for the disease.
Monkeypox in India: Notably, the first case of monkeypox in the WHO South-East Asia Region has been reported from India, in a 35-year-old man who arrived from the Middle East earlier this week.
Monkeypox virus outbreak: Kerala Health Minister said that the man, who returned from abroad, has shown symptoms of the viral disease, news agency PTI reported. His samples have been collected and sent for testing, Veena George informed.
