Jeremiah s Italian Ice– the hottest brand in the frozen dessert category – is continuing its rapid growth. As 2021 kicks off, the brand is projected to open 35 new locations in states like Texas, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina, as well as open its first locations in Louisiana and Colorado. This is a 250% increase from the number of locations the brand opened in 2020, when it opened 10 new stores. Jeremiah s Italian Ice was listed on QSR Magazine s 2021 40/40 List as one America s hottest fast casual restaurant concepts. In 2020, the brand was listed by QSR as a concept to watch for its growth and mission to reawaken the frozen dessert industry.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man shot by officers from Daytona Beach Police Department has died, according to police.
Hours after 25-year-old Andrew Mansilla was shot and injured by Daytona Beach police Thursday night, the department released body camera video of the encounter showing he continued to move forward at officers as they told him to get on the ground.

Authorities said the incident started Thursday around 9 p.m. at the Icon Apartments inside One Daytona when at least two people called 911 to report a domestic situation.
A mentally ill man who was shot by Daytona Beach police last week after police said he ran at an officer while armed with a sharp object has died.
Andy A. Mansilla, 25, died after he was shot Dec. 17, Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young confirmed in a phone interview Wednesday. It was unclear Wednesday when Mansilla died. Young said that he could not comment on the shooting, which is being investigated as is routine by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Body camera video showed Mansilla running at the officer, who warned him to stop.
And while it may not have helped in the shooting last week, the Daytona Beach Police Department is working with SMA Healthcare to have counselors on iPads ready to intervene before future situations escalate to violence.

A suspect is in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in Daytona Beach.
LAKE MARY, Fla. - A man who was shot by a Daytona Beach police officer last week has died.
Police were responding to a disturbance at the Icon One Apartments at the One Daytona complex on Thursday. Investigators said one of the responding officers shot 25-year-old Andrew Mansilla because he charged at them with a sharp object in his hand.
The whole incident was recorded on a body camera worn by the officer, in which you can hear the officer describing Mansilla as acting real aggressive, adding, It looks like he has a knife in his hand. I’m backing away.
