in these powerful organizations need to think about is that the message they are sending that abuse doesn t matter. if there are no indictments and there is nobody being arrested and the people who have become accessories to again trafficking us and handing us on a silver platter to larry nasser are not held to account, i don t know what today was for. joining me now to discuss more of what comes next is kim wayly, the professor of law at baltimore school of law, and former u.s. attorney, and so, kim, we heard the powerful sound and heard so much of it yesterday from the victims describing the incredible trauma, and then demanding accountability for it. what does accountability look like from the doj perspective is it more people charged? more agents fired? what is that kind of accountability look like? we know that the inspector general at doj did a huge report
a little bit of justice after you went through this again this morning? i can think of one thing. indictments. people being arrested where there is evidence and where there are witnesses. if there are no indictments and there is nobody being arrested and the people that have become accessories to again trafficking us and handing us on a silver platter to larry nassar are not held to account, i don t know what today was for. but today was for something and i believe that those things will begin to happen. thank you, everyone. really appreciate your being here. sorry for the delay and thank you especially to you all again. maybe we ll be back in this room. thank you all. thank you. you ve been listening to some
uncover the truth about the capitol insurrection. the white house announced today the ukrainian president will meet with president biden at the white house on august the 30th, the announcement comes almost exactly two years after donald trump threatened the president during a phone call in an effort to sabotage then candidate joe biden. as more details emerge it became clear that trump needed to be held accountable for his abuse of power and it seems obvious now but at the time, a common refrain from political putt mince was at holding trump accountable would be electoral death. the democrats would give fuel to trump s base and hand him his reelection on a silver platter. democrats did the right thing, opening an impeachment and exposing the breath of trump s ukrainian skin, he was soon impeached for the first time, and congressman adam shift made his case soon after for the senate to convict the former president. you can t trust this
washington. here in minnesota, we don t only welcome immigrants, we send them to washington. welcome back to am joy. to truly understand jus how big the blue wave was on tuesday, you have to know exactly what the democrats were up against, an economy, handed to donald trump on a silver platter by president barack obama that is at full employment, a brutal, senate map, a senate election map that heavily favored the republicans, with ten democrats up for reelection in states that trump won in 2016. heavily, heavily gerrymandered congressional districts that meant democrats needed to win the congressional popular vote by 7 points to sneak across the finish line and flip the house, and a president who was stumping for republicans by stoking racial resentment and fear of immigrants among white voters, the exact same message that got him elected in 2016. despite all of that, democrats took control of the house for
properly implemented. i think what angers me the most is when i see breakdowns with law enforcement. the fbi had this guy s name on a silver platter. not just innuendo, and there were a lot of students in that school who said we think he s going to be a school shooter. he himself said he wanted to be a professional scohool shooter and it was posted under his name and turned over to the fbi and somewhere along the way in the fbi s chain of command they let it go. i think we ought to ask those tough questions and hold people accountable. there are good people at the fbi, but clearly there are people at the fbi that chose to let this go and i think we ought to know about this. and then at the end of the day, when you look at local law enforcement, the sheriff has been very outspoken in a lot of ways, but i think what angered me the most is that there was sheriff deputy, trained and armed, at the school, assigned to protect the school, and hid out instead of protecting the students and con
