In a press conference Monday, PPA-11 Director Benjamin Cutay Jr. said that out of the total 6,170 clients, some 4,000 have violated Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. "This just calls to create more awareness on (illegal) drugs as a menace to the country," Cutay said. (File photo) MANILA - The country's total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,633,039 after 5,934 new recoveries were reported on Thursday. In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said recoveries account for 96.1 percent of the total case count of 2,740,111 since the start of the pandemic last year. Meanwhile, some 4,806 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 65,835. About 78.7 percent of these active cases are mild, 6.2 percent are asymptomatic, 2 percent are critical, 4.6 percent are severe, and 8.53 percent are moderate. The health department also logged 260 new deaths, bringing the total death toll to 41,237. According to DOH data on Oct. 19, about 10.9 percent of 52,262 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.
