Afghanistan news live updates August 26: At least 13 people have been killed after two explosions occurred outside Kabul airport on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed leaders of various political parties on the prevailing situation in Afghanistan on Thursday. During the key meet, Jaishankar said India is trying to evacuate as many people as possible. The meeting comes at a time when the United States has warned crowds trying to access Kabul airport to leave the area, as Britain and Australia cited the "high threat" of a terrorist attack. The Pentagon also said Taliban have strengthened their control around the Kabul airport which is the only access point for the international community to reach out to people in Afghanistan.
