3 new cafes come to Seattle s Central District, Capitol Hill Naomi Tomky, Special to the Seattle P-I
Even if “the most important meal of the day” was actually a lie perpetrated by big cereal to sell more Cornflakes, there’s something special about starting the day with a meal made by someone else.
As restaurants limited their hours during the pandemic, breakfast and lunches were the first to be cut and Seattle’s morning options become more limited. However, in the last few months, things are looking up if you’re looking for a good breakfast – three new spots have opened up in the greater Capitol Hill/Central District area, and all of them will get a hot coffee and a snack in your hot little hands by nine in the morning.

Fourteen arrested during May Day demonstrations KIRO 7 News Staff
Fourteen people were arrested during demonstrations in Seattle on May Day.
The first arrests of two people were made when police said a coffee shop near Broadway and East Denny Way was spray-painted and damaged.
Not long after, police issued a public safety order to a group that was placing hazards in the road, officials tweeted.
A person was arrested at Seventh Avenue and Olive Way where a carton of eggs, some filled with paint, was also recovered after an egg hit a bystander.
At one point, the marchers blocked all lanes of South Jackson Street at Eighth Avenue, the Seattle Department of Transportation reported.

KING 5.
The state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced plans to add an extra northbound lane on I-5 through Seattle. This widening project aims to bring some relief to rush hour traffic and congestion. It s a headache because it was designed in the 1950s when there was absolutely no concept that Seattle would be as big as it is,
Mark Hallenbeck said, director of the Washington State Transportation Center at the University of Washington.
Right now, there are two northbound lanes just after the Seneca Street off-ramp. The extra lane will be added between the Seneca Street off-ramp and the Olive Way off-ramp by replacing existing barriers, rails and curbs with a thinner barrier, reporters said.
