Ahead of Saturday's presidential and National Assembly elections, the Boot Party has formed an alliance with the Labour Party in the presidential and governorship elections. In a ceremony held in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, on Tuesday, the governorship candidate of Boot Party, Olawale Oluwo, disclosed that he had to shelve his ambition to support the Labour Party presidential candidate to win Saturday's presidential poll for the greater interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.
A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted the prayer of the Labour Party seeking an order to bar the Independent National Electoral Commission from using the chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages, Musliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, from distributing election materials in Lagos. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke gave the order on Monday. The suit was instituted by Labour Party and its governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, as well as Boot Party and its governorship candidate, Olawale Oluwo.
Olawale Oluwo, the Boot Party's Lagos State governorship candidate, has promised to give women and youths 50 percent of his appointments if elected in the 2023 election. Oluwo stated this on Wednesday while presenting his manifestos to his supporters and loyalists in Lagos. He said he is committed to serving the people and returning Lagos' wealth to the people.
