The Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) students from the Okoboji Foundation recently met at the Pearson Lakes Art Center to discuss the 2024 Community Needs grant submissions. Hosted by the Arts Center, the meeting provided a platform for students to reflect on past achievements and plan for the future.

Bob Kirschbaum, director of the Pearson Lakes Art Center, shared updates on the center's progress since receiving a $65,000 grant from the foundation in 2022 for the Art Smart room, setting a tone for the evening.
The Youth In Philanthropy program by the Okoboji Foundation is seeking community donations to help achieve their $75,000 goal. Fundraising efforts will continue until March 31.
“Youth in Philanthropy is not only helping build a great foundation for the young adult I am becoming and aspire to be, but it is also the perfect opportunity to thank and give back to my wonderful community,” YIP student Abby Scott said.
The Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club presented a $500 donation to the Youth in Philanthropy program of the Okoboji Foundation during its recent quarterly giving meeting. YIP member Nora Conover, along with Okoboji Foundation PresidentMindy Gress and Executive Assistant Ali Schmitz were in attendance to accept the gift.
