THE security situation in the country worsened, yesterday, as Osun Police command confirmed the abduction of two Chinese expatriates, Zhao Juan, 33, and one Wen, 50 at a mining site in the state.
Similarly, a family of five in Ondo State was also kidnapped at Ajowa-Akoko area of the state during the Easter holiday as their abductors demanded N10 million as ransom for their release.
Some suspected herdsmen, yesterday, equally attacked three women in Irele-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

LAGOS, April 7 Gunmen have kidnapped two Chinese workers from a gold-mining site in southwest Nigeria and shot their security guards, police said today, in the latest such incident in the area.
Kidnapping for ransom used to be common in Nigeria’s oil-producing south but has lately spread to other parts of the country.
The victims are usually released after a ransom is paid although police rarely confirm if money changes hands.
The latest abduction occurred on Monday at Okepa/Itikan village in Osun state, police spokeswoman Yemisi Opalola said in a statement.
She said “a gang of criminals, at about 4pm, attacked and abducted two Chinese nationals.”

Two Chinese nationals have been kidnapped, after an attack by unknown gunmen on a mining site in Osun state.
Yemisi Opalola, Osun police spokesperson disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday night.

Abductors of Chinese expatriates kidnapped at a gold mining site located at Okepa/Itikan village, Ifewara, Atakumosa West Local Government Area on Monday demanded the sum of N10 million ransom.
Vanguard had reported that Messrs Zhao Jian, 33, and Wen, 50, were kidnapped by gunmen, who invaded the mining site around 4 pm after shooting two of the private guards at the site.
Police spokesperson in Osun State, Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday while featuring on a private radio station, Rave FM talk show in Osogbo disclosed that the gunmen are demanding N10 million for the release of the victims.
