The two Chinese nationals, namely Messrs Zhao Jian and Wen Xi were abducted at Okepa/Itikan Village, the gold mining site in Ifewara, Atakunmosa West Local Government Area.
Opalola said the police are still intensifying efforts towards ensuring that the kidnapped Chinese nationals are rescued uninjured. The PPRO said: “We are working with other security operatives to ensure that the victims return safely from the den of their abductors”.
She urged residents to assist police with credible information on the activities of criminal elements in the state”.

The Police Command in Osun, on Thursday said two Chinese miners kidnapped at a gold mining site at Okepa/Itikan Village, Ifewara, Atakunmosa-West Local Government Area of Osun on Monday, had been rescued.
Police spokesperson in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the kidnapped persons were rescued at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
“The Police Command in Osun have rescued the two Chinese miners, Zhao Jian, 33 and Wen, 50, who were kidnapped on April 5, at a gold mining site in Ifewara, Osun.

THE security situation in the country worsened, yesterday, as Osun Police command confirmed the abduction of two Chinese expatriates, Zhao Juan, 33, and one Wen, 50 at a mining site in the state.
Similarly, a family of five in Ondo State was also kidnapped at Ajowa-Akoko area of the state during the Easter holiday as their abductors demanded N10 million as ransom for their release.
Some suspected herdsmen, yesterday, equally attacked three women in Irele-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
