The news release also urges the public not to be fooled by a fake Eventbrite account. Always use the link provided by DOH-Okaloosa and Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners, the release said. Registration is free. DOH-Okaloosa will not ask for credit card information or your Social Security number.
That issue aside, DOH-Okaloosa still encourages people to register online, noting that callers might experience delays, dropped calls and busy signals because of high-call volume.
Anyone born in January 1956 or earlier and non-hospital health care workers with direct patient contact are eligible for a vaccine appointment. IDs will be verified at the vaccination event, and if anyone scheduled does not meet these criteria, their appointment will be canceled.
Because of high demand, tickets online might be marked sold before a user s registration is completed. Completed orders display an order number and users will receive a confirmation email. Tickets also are available by phone until sold out.
Citizens are asked not to call to schedule an appointment before noon. Appointments cannot be made via email, and appointments are non-transferable.
The upcoming slate of vaccination clinics are scheduled for:
Thursday, Jan. 14
Friday, Jan. 15
Tuesday, Jan. 19
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., DOH-Okaloosa Fort Walton Beach, 221 Hospital Drive N.E., Fort Walton Beach
As an alternative to being vaccinated through the Florida Department of Health, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday that Publix locations in Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa, Bay and Escambia counties will offer vaccinations, by appointment only, to residents of the respective counties age 65 and older.
