No charges yet in homicide of innocent bystander shot during gun fight

A gunbattle outside a bar on the Near East Side in July 2020 left an innocent bystander dead. Ten months later, the case remains unsolved.  Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of 21-year-old Dalan Wellman, of the Southeast Side. He was on the patio of the Story Lounge, located at 1420 E. 5th Ave., around 2:10 a.m. July 26 when he and a 19-year-old were shot. Wellman was rushed to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, but he did not survive.  The owner of the bar told The Dispatch that Wellman was an innocent bystander on the patio of the bar when a gunfight broke out in the street. Stray bullets struck Wellman and the 19-year-old, who survived. 

Police: 17-year-old hurt in west Columbus shooting

Updated: 5:35 AM EDT May 18, 2021 COLUMBUS, Ohio A 17-year-old boy was hurt in a shooting in west Columbus Monday night. Officers were called just after 9:30 p.m. to Chicago Avenue on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK. This incident is under investigation.
