you are an equal part, you re on the playing field. that is a great social equaliser. doesn t give a poorer person any inferiority complex. yeah, cricket certainly feels like a great social leveller in india, doesn t it? and i think of some of the incredible success stories. it s fascinating to see them come in, put in the hard yards, come from very difficult backgrounds, circumstances whatnot, it is the social leveller. it is absolutely the case. if you see in india there are a billion people and they are everywhere, everyone wants to play, everyone is in a rush and they are competing all the time, you need to be like, if you go in small place, if you go in small gully which we say like really small street, everyone is just trying to play and enjoying the game and it s like, so many people of course in india and they want to be there but if you want to be there you have to be really good. when you come to india whatever you hear about the passion, you can t see it or feel it
their country or represent their team. it is that big everyone, they are so intense and they want to play and they want to win and the kids are really excited to go and just express themselves in the gully cricket, suppose i m playing and i got out they will be cheering, oh my god yes and stuff like that, it is so amazing. yeah, it s true. every game we play it is like a world cup and they set their own rules in gully cricket. if you hit there you are out, if you hit there you will get two runs or three runs so they make their own rules. that is why gully cricket is very good. you grow up playing this type of cricket and when you go to a higher level you get that energy in yourself. we were not really good financially, my father was like, he is a farmer and my mother, she was a teacher, and we had four kids and everyone needs to be taken care and suppose if i m living
