WEBER COUNTY, Utah â Homes were evacuated Saturday as crews responded to a wildfire between Snowbasin Resort and Pineview Reservoir.
The blaze, which officials have dubbed the Art Nord Fire, was first reported around 4:25 p.m. near 5200 Snowbasin Road in Huntsville.
At the latest update, the fire was estimated at 50 acres and 5 percent contained. Investigators have determined that it was caused by target shooting.
Weber County Sheriff s Office deputies evacuated homes in the area that were threatened by the fire. It is expected that residents will be allowed to return to their homes at 10 p.m.
SALT LAKE CITY Eastern winds have already led to gusts exceeding 60 mph in northern Utah Tuesday morning, and the National Weather Service issued a series of high wind warnings for the region as stronger winds are expected Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
The agency also released a model showing that some mountains in the state could receive more than a foot of snow after the wind events.

The National Weather Service originally issued a wind advisory for northern Utah areas that went into effect at midnight Tuesday to noon. That advisory was upgraded to a high wind warning for some of northern Utah shortly before 9 a.m.
