Officers approached the two people in the car and one of them would not comply with the officers. After a struggle, the person fired several shots at one of the officers.
“Folks, I’m here to tell you from the time he got shot to the time his wife touched him, had to be two-and-half, three hours,” the sheriff said. “I saw a dead man come back to life. because of God, and because of intervening prayer, I really believe.”
The suspect allegedly opened fire on the two officers, killing Detective Sgt. Mason Griffith and severely wounding Officer Adam Sullentrup. Sullentrup was shot in the head and side.
Police say Foster was responding to a disturbance call near VSU’s campus when he was shot on Nov. 12. Foster was wearing body armor, but a bullet struck under it.
