Community Service Day is happening on Saturday, May 4th hosted by the City of Livermore, Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) and Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD). It’s a day of service and celebrating volunteerism.
Livermore police and automotive students at Las Positas College held their fourth anti-theft catalytic converter etching event this week. The goal is deter thefts of the valuable car part and trace stolen property back to its owner.

LIVERMORE, CA The Livermore Police Department is searching for a driver who accelerated toward an officer during a traffic stop, disabled the officer s motorcycle, and led law enforcement on a pursuit, police said.
The officer sustained injuries in the incident but has since been treated and released.
If arrested, the driver would likely face charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and felony evasion of a police officer, said Officer Taylor Burruss, spokesperson for the Livermore Police Department.
Authorities are looking for a driver accused of backing over a Livermore Police Department motorcycle, hurting the officer who had to jump out of the way, before speeding away from the scene late Friday morning.
