UK Transportation Services recently offered a special one-week Fall Donations for Citations drive, allowing individuals to settle one regular parking citation by donating to UK’s Big Blue Pantry. This shortened fall drive was successful, resulting in 3,480.5 pounds of food and personal care items.
Free breakfast tacos, gig’em cookies and complimentary t-shirts shirts were distributed at the Routh First-Generation Center celebration at Aggie Park on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to September 2023 data from the Fayette County Public Schools website, 51.2% of students at public schools in Fayette County receive free or reduced lunches. Many of these students spend the holidays facing financial troubles rather than presents and joy. Circle of Love is an opportunity for UK community members to support local students and spread holiday cheer.
One of the Kentucky Can campaign’s most significant impacts has been increasing student access to higher education and cultivating Kentucky’s best and brightest minds. More than 53,500 donors contributed to student support as part of Kentucky Can, giving more than $495 million to support students with financial needs.
