Shortly after the launch of the Oculus Quest 2, a software update enabled Oculus Link, allowing the headset to be hooked up to a PC to play VR games. Now, Oculus Link is getting another upgrade, removing the need for a cable at all.
Today Oculus has announced Air Link for the Quest 2, which will arrive as part of the Oculus v28 software update on PC and on the Quest 2 itself. At first, Air Link will be an “experimental” feature, so there may be some early issues that will get ironed out over time.
Air Link gives Quest 2 owners the option of playing PC VR games wirelessly using a strong Wi-Fi connection. As long as your setup is within 20 feet of your wireless router, this should be a good option.

Facebook is making Oculus Quest headsets easier to share with others with a couple of new features being rolled out starting today. Support for multiple user accounts as well as app sharing are coming to the more recent Quest 2 first, and they re both labeled as experimental features, but the company says it will bring them to all Quest users eventually .
Multi-user support and app sharing means that multiple accounts can be created on the same headset, and purchases from one account can be shared with the rest of the users on the same device. There are, of course, some limitations, but Facebook says these might still be tweaked as testing progresses.

The Oculus Quest 2 is a hit, which is why the Oculus Quest 3 is now in the works. But Facebook, which owns Oculus, is not likely to release the Oculus Quest 3 anytime soon.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that the company is continuing to work on a new hardware too. The new Oculus hardware will fit the same platform.
Zuckerberg added that Facebook wishes to have the content that works on Quest 2 and that is should be forward-compatible. This would suggest that the social networking giant has plans to make more Quest headsets in the near future.
You can now send a message to your friends via Messenger if you've logged in to a Quest or Quest 2 using your Facebook account, even if they are not on the virtual reality platform.

The Oculus Quest 1 or 2 may make gaming and meeting with friends in VR an amazing experience, but users complain it may not be too family-friendly. This is because Oculus devices can only have a single Quest account per headset.
As Android Central reports, this means that if children want to play with the Ocular device, a secondary account with customized settings and parental controls in order to filter mature themes may not be possible. When you can keep watch of your kids all the time, this may not be a problem. But if you don t have the luxury to do so, Ocular s latest upgrade may be a relief.
