So the only way to find out if youve gone off the rails is to talk to other people that differ from you. Now Everybody Knows about the information bubbles. Were all in and i do too. But theyre dangerous because youre going to rarely hear that goes your beliefs. So you have to kind of go out of way to overcome this confirmation bias is motivated this kind of collection of facts that fit what i want to believe is true rather than what not be true and. And you have to do that by to people different from you out of your bubble. So i like the examples i use if you read the wall street journal every day should pick up the New York Times in a while and read their op ed section and just force yourself to read some of those contrarian or vice versa, you know . But then theres this other literature out there where hes this, you know, kind of insane rightwing socialist leftwing socialist. [laughter] that in the rightwing literature. And then even in the mainstream hes often kind of this feckless, bumbling, cant do anything right guy whenever the economy is bad and his Approval Ratings are bad. The sort of leftofcenter technocrat, pragmatic, dataoriented, kind of this biracial nate silver with some swag, i guess. [laughter] you know, hes you know, i dont want to undersell.
