he s respectful to the officers but it s not one of those guys i would trust. he s definitely a dangerous individual, especially on the street, and within his gang world. you wouldn t want to turn your back on him. leija was recently confined to the segregation unit where he s locked in a single-man cell 23 hours per day. jail surveillance footage shows why. mr. leija s down here, and his accomplice is kind of just walking around in the day room there. and there was some form of disrespect the night before. and they were kind of just waiting for this inmate to come out of his cell. and as soon as he comes out, the two of them begin an assault on him. the one inmate just throws a couple of punches but mr. leija is definitely the aggressor. an officer who was actually doing a block check at the time uses his oc spray to get them to separate and orders them to get on the ground.

we have a guy down. officers deployed pepper spray to dub sue tutt and now lead him to a holding cell. curly tutt was just receiving his medication, and he punched an inmate in the face and refused to stop. so he was sprayed with oc spray. he resisted the officers a little bit. spit in my cell. so i put hands on him. we in jail. that s what you got to do. you have to learn to survive. fight to survive sometimes. i can t breathe right now. this mace is killing me. tut s former neighbor patrick o sullivan is enjoying fresher air outside for his one hour of daily recreation. this is one place we can get all our pent-up frustration out and a little bit of physical exercise. unlike tutt, o sullivan has largely avoided problems during the two years he s been in the jail awaiting trial. when he did get into trouble it was big trouble.

it burns! it burns! it burns! anybody that carries the oc spray has to have it done to them first. it is probably the worst hour and a half i ve experienced that i can think of off the top of my head. it makes everything hell. staff wash the pepper spray from his face and eyes but the effects will linger for at least several more minutes. it burns! can you wipe my face? oh, my god! oh, my god! oh, my god! oh, my god! oh, my god! calm down. though silk initially denied swinging at the officer, he later indicated otherwise. why did you hit him? i m sorry i did. i didn t mean to. why? because i was angry. i was angry.
