The grunge group s contribution to this year s event, the live album Give Way, sold close to 20,000 copies, making it the biggest-selling rock album released for Record Store Day since it began in 2007.
"We re always excited to be part of RSD," says guitarist Mike McCready, who spent the day at Seattle s Easy Street Records performing with his side band The Rockfords. "It s just so important to support the Mom and Pop shops around the world. They are more than just stores, they re communities."
Give Way, which was available on vinyl and CD, captures a 1998 Pearl Jam concert in Australia during the Yield tour.

While Nichols mother has said that first responders told her her son was drunk and high, the report shows that his blood alcohol level was .049, the DA s office said. The district attorney s office told the family that was "well less than the legal limit to drive."
Nichols mother never believed her son was inebriated at the time of the incident.
The district attorney s office told the Nichols family that the autopsy will be released publicly soon.
Nichols, 29, died three days after he was beaten by officers during a Jan. 7 traffic stop in Memphis. Footage of the altercation shows officers striking Nichols repeatedly.

Lee, 43, an executive at cryptocurrency firm MobileCoin, was killed last month in the San Francisco neighborhood of Rincon Hill, the San Francisco Police Department said.

Denis Moura / 500px / Getty Images, STOCK(BUCKEYE VALLEY, Ariz.) A woman was stung more than 75 times by a swarm of bees while participating in a family photo shoot in Arizona on Sunday, fire department officials said.
Arizona Fire & Medical Authority said crew members responded to calls in the Buckeye Valley area of bees attacking a mother and her two kids.
The mother saved her children by placing them in her car, resulting in her taking the brunt of the stings, fire officials wrote on Facebook.
"The mother s quick thinking saved the children from being stung," Arizona Fire & Medical Authority said.
The unidentified woman was sent to the hospital with more than 75 stings and has recovered, officials said.
Fire officials used foam to calm the bees down and rescue the children, according to officials, who also posted a partial video of the incident on Facebook.
Arizona Fire & Medical Authority officials urged the public that getting inside to a safe place is important
