an alleged teen criminal you have heard about before. good afternoon, i am tori campbell. two people apparently tried to break into the marin county juvenile hall. we have new information. alex savage joins us where we have learned the reason was to bust out an inmate well-known in the area. good afternoon. reporter: good afternoon. that inmate max ray, charged with the brazen theft of a high end sports car, this morning or today i should say, his 18th birthday, so he was being transported here to the men s jail but investigators believe during his last few hours in juvenile hall this morning investigators are thinking someone tried to free him from that facility. two people used bolt cutters to cut through a chain-link fence on the perimeter of the juvenile hall this morning. after that they used a sledgehammer and tried to smash this window but guards were alerted and this break in was stopped short. the facility locked down as they searched the area but not able to find
