Oak View Academy LUCKY year five pupils in Winsford swapped their classroom for an indoor ski slope to help them with their geography studies. Members of Hawthorn Class at Oak View Academy received an engaging lesson at Chill Factore Manchester, with teacher Heather Hickman saying: It was brilliant - everyone had such a fantastic time! The trip was linked to our geography topic this term, in which we have been comparing Cheshire with a contrasting European region, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes in France. Swimming will never be a second-class subject says NWAT CEO A SCHOOL trust has vowed to keep its pupils swimming regularly after research warned a majority of primary school children will be unable to swim a length of a pool. The North West Academies Trust (NWAT) runs Delamere Academy and Weaverham Academy in Northwich, and Oak View Academy in Winsford. CEO Steve Docking says pupils at NWAT schools will never be cut adrift after research conducted by Swim England and a group of MPs said most primary-age pupils will be unable to swim a full length of a pool by 2025.

Nursery lead Vicky Owen said: We are all very excited to see our new arrivals, and this project will give the children the opportunity to see first-hand how chicks develop into chickens. The first two were Bovan Goldline chicks, and the second pair, which arrived are Cream Leghorn chicks.
