N.J. weather: 1 big snow record was broken this winter. More snowfall records under review.
Updated Mar 09, 2021;
The big buzz this week is the spring-like warmup that’s coming to New Jersey starting Tuesday and lasting the next few days. But statistics from our snowy winter continue to be analyzed and at least one longtime snowfall record has officially been broken, according to data from the state climatologist’s office.
The stats show last month was the snowiest February ever recorded in northern New Jersey and the second snowiest February on record in central New Jersey, said State Climatologist David Robinson, whose office at Rutgers University oversees weather data going back to 1893.
