EAGAN, Minn. (AP) â Sheriffâs officials have identified the boy who drowned in an Eagan lake.
Dakota County Sheriff Tim Leslie says 13-year-old Jeylon Elijah Holloway was walking his dog last Thursday while staying at Sonesta ES Suites with his family who had recently moved back to Minnesota.
When the dog returned to the hotel alone, Jeylonâs mother called police. Eagan officers found Jeylonâs shoe near Lemay Lake, which isnât far from the hotel, leading them to believe the boy had fallen into open water.

Jeylon Elijah Holloway, of Bloomington, died from freshwater drowning at University of Minnesota Masonic Children s Hospital at 4:21 a.m. on Jan. 29, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office said Tuesday.
He was found underwater and unresponsive in Lemay Lake at 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 28 after he had been reported missing at 1:30 p.m., the Dakota County Sheriff s Office said.
Police found a shoe near the lake, with the sheriff s office saying it s believed he fell into the open water near a drainage culvert.
