ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday, April 30, met with Mt.Kenya elders at his Karen home in Nairobi County.
In a statement, Odinga said that he and members of the Kikuyu Council of Elders led by their Chair Wachira Kiago, discussed how they would work together in future.
A conversation about moving our Country forward not on the patchy path of tribal lines that have and continue to occasion annihilation, Raila stated.

The council’s visit to Raila’s home was loaded with traditional symbolism.
A concoction known as thathii was specially brewed to convey the ceremonial significance of the visit to Opoda farm by the delegation.
This according to the Muranga Eminent Persons delegation is a special expression of friendship and a celebration of fraternity.
As per the Gikuyu tradition, elders visit the home of an ailing mate to wish him quick recovery, where thathii is concocted and the elders break bread at the home of their peer, to signify well wishes.

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Saturday, December 19, met up with the Council of Eminent Persons of Murang’a including; chairman Joe Kibe, secretary Dr Nyamu Njoka, James Ngethe and Royal Media Services chairman SK Macharia.
The meeting, which was held at Odinga s Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County, was a special expression of friendship and meant to spearhead matters of national reconciliation and good governance. I was instructed a number of times for the last 6 months to let this happen, and I am happy that it did happen, Macharia stated. It has since emerged that Raila, whom they referred to as an elder, had been unwell.

Members of the Council of Eminent Persons in Muran ga are currently meeting the ODM leader Raila Odinga at his home in Opoda farm, Bondo.
Raila Odinga, Oburu Oginga and James Orengo hosted the delegation led by SK Macharia, council chairman Joe Kibe, secretary Dr Nyamu Njoka and bishop Gideon Mithiga.
The elders, led by chairman Kibe, on Saturday said they have come to pay a special visit to the former Prime Minister. As elders, there s a special ceremony that we usually perform to a fellow elder especially when he/she is recuperating from sickness, said Kibe.
