ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday, April 30, met with Mt.Kenya elders at his Karen home in Nairobi County.
In a statement, Odinga said that he and members of the Kikuyu Council of Elders led by their Chair Wachira Kiago, discussed how they would work together in future.
A conversation about moving our Country forward not on the patchy path of tribal lines that have and continue to occasion annihilation, Raila stated.

ODM Leader Raila Odinga has shrugged off claims by a section of Members of Parliament from the Mount Kenya region over alleged unwillingness to market him in the region.
The former premier was making reference to a letter the legislators wrote to President Uhuru Kenyatta stating that they are not ready to popularise Baba in the Mt Kenya region.
While addressing the media on January 30, 2021, the ODM leader stated that he had not assigned any persons duties to market him in Central Kenya, neither does he need their support to popularise him in the region.

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Saturday, December 19, met up with the Council of Eminent Persons of Murang’a including; chairman Joe Kibe, secretary Dr Nyamu Njoka, James Ngethe and Royal Media Services chairman SK Macharia.
The meeting, which was held at Odinga s Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County, was a special expression of friendship and meant to spearhead matters of national reconciliation and good governance. I was instructed a number of times for the last 6 months to let this happen, and I am happy that it did happen, Macharia stated. It has since emerged that Raila, whom they referred to as an elder, had been unwell.
