Housing concerns are mounting in Nova Scotia due to the devastation caused by the wildfires over the last couple of weeks. More than 200 homes have been lost to the flames.
An emergency alert was sent out in Nova Scotia on Friday to notify more residents that it was safe to return home, after wildfires forced at least 16,000 people to evacuate.
As hundreds of wildfires burn across Canada, volunteers from Connecticut have joined up with other firefighters across the region to aid in containment efforts.
As about 4,000 people still await their return home, Halifax officials say more wildfire evacuation orders are expected to be lifted for residents on Thursday.
