REGIONAL—Iowa journalist Ty Rushing didn’t mince words when he addressed the state of the news during a virtual question-and-answer event hosted by the Sioux County Democrats earlier this month.
Arts On Grand hosted an open house Saturday, showcasing its current featured exhibit, “Iris,” Saturday afternoon. The exhibit, which runs through April 25, from artist Evangeline King (Faith Tyrell), a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, focuses largely on eyes and what the eyes capture. A grouping of the paintings focus on the eyes of her four grandparents, flanked by a self portrait of King. She has included several images throughout the main gallery display area.
Arts On Grand announced the opening of its next exhibit “Iris,” beginning March 5. A special reception, with music and appetizers, has been scheduled from 1-3 p.m., March 9. Evangeline King (Faith Tyrell) the artist, who is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, has spent seven years illustrating logos, children’s books and large scale paintings for clients. The exhibit runs through April 25. The gallery is always free to the public. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.
