Northumberland Public Library is all in for a Summer of Reading Fun
HEATHSVILLE – It’s been a long, strange school year but summer is going to be fun. Northumberland Public Library, Northumberland Family YMCA and Northumberland Elementary School are teaming up again to make reading a family affair.
The theme this year, “Tails and Tales” is all about animals. And yes, there is a unicorn.
“But unicorns aren’t real, are they?” asked Marilyn Smith, the library children’s program director, with a wink.
The answer will come from “Unicorns Break the Cage,” as elementary students conduct science experiments with Smith about life sciences and animals. That program will be repeated during the summer so groups of ten kids can cycle into the library to participate. But she added, registration is required for all the in-library programs.
