The events will give high school students in grades 9-12 an opportunity to meet with faculty in a wide variety of programs as well as student services staff.
What started off as “Aviation 1” at Red River High School is now called “Aviation 105,” and students who enroll in the technical education elective will receive college credit upon completing the course.
According to a news release, more than $415,000 have been distributed during the 2021-2022 academic year in scholarships from the Northland Foundation, as well as other Minnesota state initiatives.
The event will be held at the technical college’s Aerospace Site adjacent to Thief River Falls’ airport, on Dec. 11. The open house portion of the event will begin at 10 a.m. that day, while the 2021-2022 REC Foundation Aerial Drone Competition will start at 9:30 a.m.
ADawn Nelson, an agriculture instructor, Kirsten Michalke, director of workforce development and Sara Johnson, director of the Academic Success Center, joined dozens of award recipients from around the nation.
