Flying Squad swoop in Ealing after series of supermarket robberies A MAN is in custody following a series of knifepoint robberies. The 45-year-old was arrested this morning (25) in the Northfield Avenue area of Ealing during a Flying Squad operation. It follows a series of eight incidents that are thought to be related. They took place between October and February at supermarkets in Hounslow, Ealing and Richmond. Officers also recovered a large kitchen knife. The suspect is alleged to have waited for the store to be opened by staff members before threatening them with a knife. He then stole cash from the tills and, on occasion, cigarettes alcohol, and scratch cards, which were placed into a black holdall and a bin bag.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of knifepoint robberies across west London. In eight separate incidents, which police are treating as related, shops in Richmond, Hounslow, and Ealing were targeted. The dates of the incidents range between October 16 last year and today (February 25). In each of the cases, the suspect is alleged to have waited for the store to be opened by staff members, before threatening them with a knife. He then stole cash from the tills, and on occasion, cigarettes, alcohol, and scratch cards, which were placed into a black holdall and a bin bag/Sainsbury’s bags.
