Yes, indeed, keeping a close eye on radar for a chance for accumulating snow is coming our way and arrives late today into the overnight hours tonight. Winter storm warnings are up. Skies are mostly sunny for now, that wont be the case for much longer, clouds race in during the afternoon. Winter storm warnings, all of these bright pink counties montgomery, arlington, fairfax and everywhere north and west of the corridor winter storm warning. Anne arundel, towards fredericksburg, widespread amounts from the northwest suburbs of washington and north and westbound of pennsylvania border. Widespread amounts of 6 inches or more are likely. Right here in washington, an inch is a sure bet. Im competent well get to 4 to 5 inches, confidence in more than that is starting to fade as the newer computer guidance is indicating that the rain snow line may
Around the region. Going to take a while for temperatures to cool down. Once that snow starts, we are going to see the temperatures really begin to drop once that snow begins. Look hour by hour into the evening hours. By 8 00 light snow starts to fall into the metro area. Well be into the upper 30s by then. Thats when were going to start seeing the snow pick up in intensity, 11 00. By dawn tomorrow well have a mix of rain and sleet in the metro area. Temperatures hovering right near the freezing mark. By 11 00 a. M. On tuesday were going to see the snow showers just coming and going and tapering off. That rain snow line so critical. Im going to have an updated forecast for you including a new map to show you. The parking restrictions and the closures are starting to take effect now just ahead of the storm.
