Person, this afternoon on the vegas boulevard in the heart of the strip near the Cosmopolitan Hotel and casino. That person has died. One other person went to the hospital. Officials tell us that victim is in fair condition. And this story develops, were going to bring updates on an air in and our nbc washington app. A disturbing discovery on the potomac river, a fishman spotted a body. D. C. Police pulled the body of a female from the water and are now handling this investigation. We dont yet have her age or identity. Stay with news4 as we continue to follow that story. There is now a reward for anybody who can help catch a killer in prince georges county. Police found a man dead early this morning, and they sent these pictures from the scene on edenburg lane. Darcy . Reporter erika, i can tell you im standing on Columbia Park road but the shooting itself happened right here on columbia place in the 2200 block. Prince georges county police still waiting to provide specific information. But what we do know is that it happened in the 2200 block this evening and that a male was shot and killed. That male suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body. We dont have an age yet on the victim but i was able to talk to some young people who were standing over here on the corner a short time was he outside . Inside . I would say probably we had just told him come with us. What was he like . He was nice. Always looking out like a little brother like. I dont see what he even could have did to live, Prince Georges County police again not confirming that the victim in this case is a teenager but that is in fact what we are hearing from neighbors who live right here on this street. Young people are leaving home on their own. The other reason volunteers are here today, to let these young people know, there is help, there are people who care right here in the neighborhood. Marcus bachelor organized this. He and other Community Leaders are passing out information to students, important information, with phone numbers to programs and other resources they can turn to, should they find themselves wanting to run away or if they are being exploited in some way. Marcus bachelor says the effort has to go well past today. Its gonna take addressing some root causes and that assistant happen with a few initiatives or over a few weeks or days. There has to be a longterm effort to really get down to some of the root causes that are affecting our children in ways we cant even imagine.
