IDAHO FALLS An Upper Valley man was arrested in Bonneville County Sunday for alleged possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence. Police reports show just after 7 p.m. Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the Ucon area after reports of a possibly intoxicated driver. The reporting party was giving updates on the vehicle and where it was traveling, advising it was swerving all over the road almost hitting other vehicles.

Wildlife Outnumber Participants in Winter Yellowstone VHF Radio Rally 02/25/2021 Wyoming and southern Montana hams belonging to the north Yellowstone Amateur Radio Club and Park County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES®) took to the wilderness in late January during heavy snow to take part in an emergency preparedness exercise. The groups have about 15 members in all; many more bison and elk roam the roads than do hams. The critical winter duty for North Yellowstone radio amateurs is deployment to remote locations of winter emergencies. To train for these responses, the members devised the VHF Radio Relay, a radio scavenger hunt designed to get members out to remote road locations where winter emergencies may require radio communications support. The group uses the Eagle’s Nest repeater located at 8,000 feet on Electric Peak southwest of Gardiner, Montana the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The repeater covers the northern one-third of the vast park and

Man dies days after Bonneville County shooting Updated at Share This IDAHO FALLS Deputies say a man has died after a shooting in the middle of a Bonneville County Highway last week. Taylor R. Murrieta, 31, is the man who was shot in the incident that remains under investigation, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Bryan Lovell says in a news release. Deputies say Murrieta and Donald T. Randall, 42, were in an argument around 11:30 p.m. that led up to the Feb. 16 shooting in the middle of the 3100 block of North Yellowstone Highway. Lovell says the night of the shooting, someone called 911 saying two men were fighting. Before the first deputy arrived, Randall is alleged to have shot Murrieta, leaving the man with a non-survivable injury. After being rushed to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Murrieta remained on life support until he died a few days later.
