The North Wayne Ambulance Service in Cisne has announced the service will be closing down. The closure is due to staffing shortages. With those shortages, officials with North Wayne Ambulance Service are not able to provide 24/7 EMS coverage that is mandated by the state. Officials say the closure will be for 60 days for restructuring. Due to staff shortage we aren't able to provide 24/7 EMS coverage, mandated by the state. Moving forward the boards actions will be to examine all financials and day to day operations within the service and make the appropriate changes. We will be actively looking for a Coordinator and Certified EMT's. I think I can speak for the entire Board, when I say that we do not want to see this service go away. The Tax Increment Financing Committee of the City of Fairfield will conduct a Committee Meeting on Monday, September 12 at 5pm at City Hall. Saturday, September 10th the North Wayne Ambulance Board will have a Pork Burger Sale at Atwood's Country Financial in Cisne from 10 a.m. until Sold Out. Drinks and Chips will also be available. Sean Adam Curtiss, 42 of Altamont is now facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot a former Carmi woman last month in rural Edwards County. Curtiss is being held in the White County jail
