thousands are without power still at last check with the emergency management, 13,000 were without power. portions of the pier have been broken off into the atlantic and there was localized flooding with roads inundated with water. as it stands right now, though, we do not know of any reports of injuries. we ve been checking with the local emergency management here. so far it s just significant damage to the piers. there was cause for concern a short time ago, about an hour ago, as we were reporting, a shrimp boat appeared along the atlantic ocean, just really out of nowhere, getting hammered by the choppy waves at the time. it was unclear if anyone was on the boat at the time, initially when we were reporting. we talked to the sheriff and he said the crew was evacuated yesterday by the coast guard. it was anchored a couple of miles away but intense wind caused it to drift onshore, just off camera there s a huge crowd surrounding the boat. somebody tried to climb on top of th

take a look at your screen right now. part of the states completely saturated still 200 people remaining without power in ten people dead. carley: tracking the hurricane with us all morning long but we began with doug luzader on the ground in charleston as ian approaches. what are you experiencing this morning? good morning, guys come a little bit of light rain is all we are seeing right now and some winds to pick up and the intensity will wrap up through the course of the day. now we have been watching a couple of things closely with this storm as always, the track. as far as the track is concerned it is shifting to the north. the second landfall might happen close disadvantage to georgia but then we started talking about charleston and now it is looking more and more like north of charleston may be closer to moreland beach. as we tracked the track itself, we are also making intensity and this is a category one hurr hurricane. this is something perhaps expecting. the con
we begin with our chief meteorologist rick reichmuth in the fox weather center. rick? yeah, landfall about 55 minutes ago just around the georgetown, south carolina area. that s where the worst of the storm surge is. the storm surge on shore already. winds sustained were 85 miles an hour. a category one storm. we look at the satellite picture. looks like a mess. it s turning into a more typical storm that you might see in the northern latitudes or at least a combination between those two kinds of storms. the rain field will stretch out. we ll see the wind field stretch out as well across a lot of areas. in general, a weakening wind trend now that we have the storm over land. the winds gusting 46 miles an hour. that s an offshore wind. that is pushing water, not allowing storm surge there to be coming on. we have rain here. some of the storms out across east earn north carolina will have a tornado thread there. there s one tornado warning out there to inside of the outer
