SIBU: A policeman has been sentenced to two years in jail and fined RM10,000 in default six months' jail after he was convicted by the High Court here on Tuesday (Jan 31) on an amended charge of causing a colleague's death by negligence.
A police constable was charged at the Magistrate’s Court here Wednesday with the murder of his colleague earlier this month.
Constable Muhamad Nur Alif Mazlan, 28, is alleged to have murdered Constable Norhalim Tumiran, 24, at house number 8A, Lorong Permai Timur 9 here between 5.45 pm and 6.30 pm on May 6

SIBU: A probationary police constable has been charged at a Magistrate s Court here with the murder of his colleague.
The accused, Mohamad Nur Alif Mazlan, 28, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for killing Norhalim Tumiran, 25, between 5.45pm and 6.30pm on May 6 at a house in Lane 9, Jalan Permai here.
The offence carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
No plea was recorded from the accused before Magistrate Siti Hazwani Hanim on Wednesday (May 19).
Two of Mohamad Nur s colleagues, aged 21 and 23, were investigated under the same section of the Penal Code.

TEMERLOH: Constable Norhalim Tumiran who was found dead with a gunshot wound in a house rented by his colleagues, had made preparations for Hari Raya for his family members, though he would not be home to celebrate with them.

pix), 25, her husband had bought clothes and shoes for her, their 14 months old daughter Nur Asyfa Alisha and mother-in-law, online, and had them delivered to the family home in Felda Bukit Damar, Lanchang, here.
“Norhalim was excited when I told him that the items have arrived and he would make us wear them and to check if we were happy with the gifts each time he video called us.

Kota Kinabalu: A policeman was found hanged several hours after sahur (pre-dawn meal) with his family at a housing area in Sandakan, Friday.
The wife of the 28-year-old lance-corporal, said to be from the peninsula, found the body in their living room at 7.30am.
Sabah police chief Hazani Ghazali said the policeman was attached to the Sandakan marine police team.

He said investigations are under way, and the policeman had a good work record besides having no issues with his colleagues or superiors.
“We heard that he had just celebrated his three-year-old child’s birthday,” he said.
