India plans to invite private firms, including Reliance Industries, Tata Power, Adani Power, and Vedanta, to invest around $26 billion in its nuclear energy sector, marking the first time New Delhi seeks private investment in nuclear power. The government aims to build 11,000 MW of new nuclear power generation capacity by 2040, contributing to its target of having 50% of installed electric generation capacity from non-fossil fuels by 2030.
