A robust and emotive debate on immigration took place in the council chambers at last Monday’s full council meeting as a plethora of councillors highlighted the lack of communication afforded to public representatives and communities.
“Businesses can’t absorb any more,” warned Fine Gael councillor Marie O’Sullivan who brought forward a motion at last Monday’s full council meeting seeking a reduction in the VAT rate for businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector.
Political differences were set aside at Tuesday’s Fermoy Municipal District meeting as the councillors were united in their well wishes for newly married councillor Noel McCarthy.
